BUSNA thanks Patricia Clarke for Service to the Board

Patricia Clarke, a founding member of Birdshot Uveitis Society of North America, has resigned her position on the organization’s Board of Directors, effective December 2023.

Patty was instrumental in building BUSNA. She has spearheaded a number of important projects since the organization’s inception in 2020. She lent her writing talents to formulating the constitution, preparing annual reports, and executing the responsibilities of Board Secretary.

Patty also managed BUSNA’s social media platforms, keeping us up-to-date on relevant research efforts. She featured visual art of birdies on BUSNA’s social media banners to remind us to keep active with our various talents and interests. Patty is a generous supported of BUSNA and has been very involved in planning the upcoming Birdshot Day 2024.

BUSNA President Christine Griffith made the following statement about Patty’s role in our organization.

Patty’s passion, dedication, and unwavering commitment to Birdshot Uveitis Society of North America’s mission has been instrumental in shaping the growth and positive impact we've had on our birdshot community. Her insights and thoughtful contributions have been truly commendable.

I am deeply appreciative of the time and effort she has invested in championing our cause. Her leadership and willingness to go above and beyond have set a remarkable example for all of us. It is individuals like Patty who make a significant difference, and I am proud to have had the privilege of working alongside her.”

Indeed, Patty inspired many of us with her passion for finding a cure. Board members Andrea Munk and Liz Cohen write that she was a joy to work with, and that her tireless efforts will be missed. Patty made an indelible impression on our organization, and fostered friendships that will continue to grow.

The BUSNA Board, on behalf of the entire birdshot uveitis community, thanks Patty for her tremendous efforts these past four years. Indeed, our community is stronger because of her commitment to finding a cure. We wish Patty well with both her birdshot management and her future endeavors, and we look forward to seeing her at Birdshot Day 2024!
